Governor Doug Ducey took another step forward for Arizona by signing SB 1394 to update Arizona’s abortion reporting laws.

Sponsored by Sen. Nancy Barto, SB 1394 is pro-woman. This new law will provide critical data to state policymakers, abortion providers, and pregnancy centers as they seek to improve the health and wellbeing of Arizonans. Good policy requires good data.

Most importantly, the new law provides another way for health care providers to assist women who have been victims of sex trafficking, sexual assault, or domestic violence to seek help and services. Additional measures strengthen the privacy protections in current law.

I thank Governor Ducey, Sen. Barto, and the pro-life legislative majority for their leadership to protect the health and wellbeing of Arizona women.
