In the midst of this COVID crazy year and deep concerns about the elections results, let’s not overlook the Advent season. Let us remember to rejoice for this is the day the Lord has made. We have been put in this time and place for a reason. It’s not a time for discouragement. It is a time to keep our eyes on Jesus and celebrate the season. Yes, even in the midst of unprecedented turmoil and conflict.
To celebrate and observe Advent, I recommend you sign up for weekly Advent readings and the e-book, Emmanuel, published by the Colson Center. Emmanuel means God with us. That’s a radical notion in today’s culture.
An excerpt written by Brooke B. McIntire:
“O Emmanuel, our King and Giver of Law:
Come to save us, Lord our God!
In the long years of the history of the Church, we have heard words like these so many times that we can fail to see how remarkable they are. They remind us how God is astonishingly counter-cultural in the way He approaches us.”
Take time to counter the daily onslaught of bad news to focus on Advent and prepare for the coming of our Lord.
Scripture tells us that blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. Pray for America to be that nation.
Take time especially to pray for those suffering from COVID. Pray for those for whom this season brings grief. Pray for those who do not know the meaning of this Christmas season.
Yes, indeed, Jesus is the reason for the season.
Blessings to all!
Looking Ahead to 2021 and New Opportunities
As 2020 comes to an end, we at CAP look to a new year with anticipation of what God is doing.
In 2021, CAP will be driving the conversation by Speaking Boldly in all media platforms on key issues like life and religious freedom, expanding our reach by monitoring school boards and local governments to stand against radical sex education curriculums and to secure religious freedom and parents’ rights, and finally mobilizing the grassroots by recruiting activists statewide to undergird our efforts!
You can join the CAP team in these efforts right now in two significant ways:
- Pray for us as we move ahead into 2021. The challenges AND opportunities abound! We are going on offense and speaking boldly for life, marriage and family, and religious freedom.
- Make a year-end, tax-deductible contribution in support of this mission right now by clicking here.
