After years of unchecked advance, dangerous ‘woke’ ideologies are finally meeting substantive resistance. Last week, Phoenix Children’s Hospital halted its destructive gender transition procedures for minors, and now a bombshell New York Times exposé revealed the dark underbelly of Planned Parenthood’s operations. Both stories demonstrate the importance of keeping do no harm as the touchstone of medicine.
The decision by Phoenix Children’s Hospital to pause gender-altering medical treatments for youth under 19 represents a clear step forward for protecting vulnerable children. This move aligns with President Trump’s executive order aimed at stopping the harm inflicted by radical gender ideology. The physical and psychological damage caused by puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones demands we shield impressionable youth from these dangerous medical experiments. You can read more about these harms here.
This struggle is far from over. Prisma Community Care in Phoenix has announced it will defy the President’s order and continue providing these treatments to minors. Their reckless determination to push forward with controversial procedures, despite mounting evidence of harm, shows exactly why federal intervention was necessary. So called “gender-affirming care” for children is reality-denying mistreatment. It denies the reality that every child is either a boy or a girl; and it often then harms that child by pressuring them to undergo life-changing medical interventions like puberty blockers, cross-hormone treatment, or even mutilating surgery.
Prisma, however, may soon want to reconsider. Arizona lawmakers took a major step forward this week when SB1586 passed out of committee. The CAP-supported bill would allow holding medical professionals personally liable for any harm caused by gender transition treatments performed on minors. While this is just the first step in the legislative process, it sends a clear message – if you’re going to perform these procedures on children, you better be prepared to face the consequences.
Turning to another harm masquerading as medicine, the New York Times has pulled back the curtain on another organization that profits from harming the vulnerable – Planned Parenthood. Their extensive investigation exposed what pro-life advocates have long known: behind the polished PR propaganda lies an operation marked by botched procedures, unsanitary conditions, and staff so poorly trained they can’t even properly draw blood.
The Times documented several horror stories, including one woman’s traumatic experience: after a failed abortion attempt, she was falsely assured everything was fine, only to deliver and lose her baby 12 weeks later. This represents just one of countless examples of Planned Parenthood’s negligence.
Former Planned Parenthood director and whistleblower Mayra Rodriguez puts it plainly:
“It’s beyond frustrating to see the media still covering for Planned Parenthood’s lack of accountability. My experience is just one of hundreds from patients and former workers around the world for decades, all exposing the same shady practices. It’s time for the truth to come out—Planned Parenthood doesn’t care about anything but money.”
The investigation reveals clinics operating with “aging equipment and poorly trained staff” while patient counts have plummeted from 5 million to 2.1 million. Yet Planned Parenthood raked in $498 million in donations after Roe’s overturn – money that largely funds political advocacy rather than anything resembling ‘healthcare’.
Even more disturbing are the accounts of sewage flooding recovery rooms, chronic shortages of basic medical supplies, and undertrained staff performing procedures they barely understand.
This is the real face of Planned Parenthood – an organization that claims to champion women while subjecting them to substandard and often dangerous conditions in pursuit of profit. Their clinics have become assembly lines of death, rushing vulnerable women through procedures with little regard for their well-being.
The truth is becoming harder to ignore. Whether it’s the transgender movement’s assault on children or Planned Parenthood’s industrial-scale abortion business, Americans are starting to see these radical ideologies for what they really are – destructive forces that harm the most vulnerable among us. But exposure alone isn’t enough. We must continue fighting to protect life, defend children, and restore sanity and safety to our healthcare system.
