LIVE ACTION: Spending 30 minutes at Planned Parenthood changed her forever. Now, she’s suing.

of Live Action reports on a young woman who is suing Planned Parenthood after receiving so-called “gender-affirming care” that permanently damaged her healthy body. This case exemplifies how the transgender movement harms vulnerable individuals by encouraging them to reject their God-given biological sex. Childs writes:

Cristina Hineman, who experienced gender dysphoria and other mental illnesses as a teen, sought “gender-affirming care” from Planned Parenthood three weeks after turning 18, and got a testosterone prescription from a Planned Parenthood nurse practitioner after an appointment lasting less than 30 minutes.

This case illustrates the dangerous reality of gender ideology. Rather than helping Hineman address her underlying mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, and Asperger’s Syndrome, Planned Parenthood immediately affirmed her confusion and prescribed cross-sex hormones. The transgender movement falsely teaches that one’s biological sex can be changed, contradicting the biological truth that sex is immutable and divinely ordained.

Very soon after her mastectomy, Hineman longed to live as a woman and regretted her attempt to transition. About six weeks after her mastectomy, she suffered a mental breakdown. Emotional and full of regret, she attempted to find even small ways to reclaim her femininity.

The tragic aftermath of Hineman’s case reveals the profound harm of transgender interventions. No amount of hormones or surgeries can truly change a person’s sex, leaving individuals like Hineman with permanently altered bodies and deep regret. This is precisely why CAP supported SB1586, legislation that holds medical professionals accountable when they perform gender transition procedures on minors who later detransition. The bill creates civil liability for providers and allows detransitioners to seek compensation for the physical, psychological, and emotional harm caused by these procedures.

SB1586 would provide crucial legal protection and recourse for these vulnerable young people, ensuring medical professionals cannot evade responsibility for the permanent damage caused by gender transition procedures that contradict biological reality and God’s design.
