As one who has followed Supreme Court nominations for many years, I could not be more pleased with President Trump’s nomination Tuesday of Judge Neil Gorsuch of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit to the U.S. Supreme Court. Take time to learn the facts about Judge Gorsuch as the misinformation and outright deceitful campaign launched immediately. Most of all, pray for Judge Gorsuch and his family as they go through the confirmation process.
The Gorsuch Record
Judge Gorsuch’s record shows him to be one who “thinks through issues deeply.” He is one who looks to the original meaning and text of the U.S. Constitution. He interprets, rather than makes the law.
In his book on assisted suicide and euthanasia, Judge Gorsuch wrote:
“Human life is fundamentally and inherently valuable, and that the intentional taking of human life by private persons is always wrong.”

Russell Moore on Gorsuch
Evangelical leader Russell Moore extended his praise this week for Judge Gorsuch, calling the Supreme Court nominee “exceptional.”
In a statement, Moore said, “His career is one that exemplifies the very best of intellectually robust conservatism, judicial restraint and faithfulness to the Constitution.”

Unnecessary and destructive
House Minority Leader Rebecca Rios and Senate Minority Leader Katie Hobbs have introduced twin bills that would limit the private-property rights of individuals, and the rights of business owners to live and work according to their deeply held religious beliefs. In a press conference Monday, the leaders spoke of “widespread discrimination” against people on the basis of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Yet not one testimony was offered alleging or even proving the discrimination.
